Algebra is one of my most widely requested subjects, and I always like to work through different assignments and reviews, and show multiple ways of solving different problems to match the in-classroom experience.

Teaching levels

Intermediate

I always start calculus lessons with one or two questions to get a great baseline and comfort level with knowledge, and work on a step-by-step basis, but showing helpful shortcuts (with explanations of why they work) whenever possible.

I tend to have certain tools available and handy (such as the unit circle) and encourage students to use them as a reference. Plus, with polygons, I focus more on needed formulae and explaining how they work and when to apply them.

About:

I majored in mathematics at the University of North Florida, and that's where I began my tutoring career. Starting as an on-campus tutor in 2007, I went on to private tutoring and started my own company in 2020. I really believe in letting the student guide the session initially, and once I have an idea I like to narrow down the focus for each session, so we can cover topics in the best way over the course of the semester as need be. I always try to be friendly and available, and make sure to maintain a calm environment for students to learn in.
