About:

I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 1986 with B.A. magna cum laude in Spanish. I earned both a master’s degree and a doctorate from the University of Kansas in Lawrence Kansas. I received the M.A. in 1988, followed by the Ph.D in 1996. During graduate school I took a leave of absence to study and work in Israel. I taught European history from WWI to the present and did individual tutoring for S.E.T Seminars in Tel Aviv, which is a company specializing in educating Foreign Ministers and their families. My students would tell you that I am tough but fair and very approachable regarding academic as well as personal matters. They have conflicts or problems, I am happy to resolve them. I care deeply about my students, and they know that I care. By the end of the semester, students should expect to see significant improvement in all four skills. They will also have learned about the culture, a crucial aspect in foreign language study and cross-cultural respect and comprehension.
