I like teaching because I want people to communicate throughout the world, and English is now essential. Also, more and more people and getting interested in learning Italian due to its cultural and artistic prestige, therefore my goal is to provide all students with a method I have been working on for ten years now and share useful tips and advice.

My method consists in helping students to grasp the main development of English literature and its genres (poetry, drama, fiction and non-fiction) over time, from Geoffrey Chauser to most recent authors, Each author will be studied in association to their main works. At the same time I can help students go through readings and themes for specific programs. Academic writing practice is also included.

I usually start with an overview of sounds and basic grammar, together with conversational phrases and basic vocabulary. Higher-level students will approach text analysis, listening and advanced grammar with a view to develop stronger skills. Studying sessions will be intermingled with tests so as to give students proper feedback on their results.

My main focus is on the development of different artistic tastes and view over time, from Medieval to Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Realism and so on. I strongly believe that Fine arts students, especially those who appreciate figurative art, should develop strong knowledge regarding art theory and history, with a view to give their artistic research solid ground.

I firstly studied Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Messina, where I graduated in 2013 with a thesis on War Poetry and a liguistic analysis of Wilfred Owen's poems. After graduation I enrolled at Pisa University to study Modern Languages and Literature: my main subjects were English, English Literature, Comparative literature, Postcolonial literature, Italian Literature, Anglo-American Literature, History and Art History.
I am currently teaching English for arts and communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Reggio Calabria, Italy. My focus is on art theory, phonetics, academic writing and English literature related to Art History.
Overall, my strategy is to help all students develop a routine regarding Italian, English, English Literature, and Academic Writing, so that they will be able to boost their language skills on the long term and feel confident.
