My teaching style is relational, with a focus on developing critical thinking skills. I will need to be told what the subject is, including what texts/specifics about the assignment the student/students want help with prior to the tutoring session of course. I can adjust my teaching style to the subject & student's style. Do they need help with an academic subject/information processing? Do they need help producing a literature review? What are the barriers the student(s) are experiencing?
I obtained a PsyD from Saybrook University, based in humanistic/existential/transpersonal orientation to psychology. My teaching style is relational, with a focus on developing critical thinking as one learns the academic and clinical skills for psychology. As a tutor, I can provide support in a wide range of coursework or can provide more instruction-oriented tutoring based on a student's/group of students' needs. I would not be a good tutor for statistics/quantitative research, and probably not for industrial/organizational psychology. However, there are still quite a few courses for which I could tutor well such as group therapy, assessment/DSM-5, literature review preparations or other qualitative research inquiries, critical thinking, theoretical frameworks, ethics, lifespan development, learning theory, and more.
As requested, I blocked off hours I'd be available for tutoring. I am not trying to fill all of those hours each week, and I prefer to group tutoring in blocks of time as much as possible. At this point, I prefer to be available approximately 25 hours/week by zoom, maybe a little bit more depending on need.
Here are the hours when the tutor has the opportunity to work with new students. The information about the available time slots may change every hour in real time. That is why you have to discuss the exact time with a tutor
