I am eager to work with high school, college and graduate students who want to improve their writing skills. I look forward to guiding you through college and degree applications, term papers, and other forms of professional writing. I am a patient, meticulous and no-frills educator who wants to support you in developing productive writing habits.
Tony W.
I am a doctoral student at Harvard University in the Humanities, with a professional background in journalistic arts writing.
I received Writing Pedagogy training from the University of Chicago Writing Center, and have taught freshman core Humanities Writing Seminars. I devised lessons introducing the fundamentals of argumentation, namely how to make a claim with reasoning and evidence. I also developed short exercises to help college freshmen write short argumentative essays responding to current events, theoretical texts, and art objects.
I also have extensive experience as a sub-editor for academic presses, working with scholars and editors to ensure their books and academic articles are print-ready.
I am confident that I will be able to match your learning style, and maximise your time and effort. Writing is a highly personal discipline, and I have no interest prescribing formulae and rules to young writers. You can expect copious amounts of critical feedback and concise paper comments.
