I am Mr Vershima. I am African-Nigerian. I am a passionate teacher with 6+ years experience and I apply various methods of teaching.

My name is Vershima Shakungwa, a highly experienced and internationally certified Physics and Mathematics educator with a strong passion for helping students understand, enjoy, and excel in science-based subjects. I am an IB Physics and Mathematics teacher, a certified Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Physics teacher, and also certified by the Ontario College of Teachers, giving me a broad international teaching perspective.

I teach across multiple curricula, including the Nigerian, British (Cambridge), American, and Canadian curricula. Over the years, I have successfully prepared students for major examinations such as WAEC, NECO, JAMB, Cambridge Checkpoint, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge AS & A Levels, AP Physics, SAT Physics, and the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

My teaching philosophy is strongly student-centred and personalized. I focus on breaking down complex Physics and Mathematics concepts into simple, relatable ideas connected to real-life experiences. I emphasize understanding the “why” behind concepts rather than rote memorization, helping students build confidence, curiosity, and independent thinking skills. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to inspire genuine interest and long-term success in learning.

I offer both online and in-person classes, with flexible scheduling to meet students’ needs, and I am always committed to supporting learners at every stage of their academic journey.
