In my teaching practice, I use a combination of Content-based Instruction and Game-based Learning to help my students develop their language skills in a more engaging and meaningful way.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students of all levels and ages, from beginner to advanced, and from young learners to seniors. I have a passion for language learning and enjoy helping my students achieve their goals, whether it's improving their communication skills, preparing for an exam, or simply gaining more confidence in speaking English.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, and learning about new cultures. I believe that language learning is a lifelong process, and I'm always looking for ways to improve my own skills and knowledge.
With Content-based Instruction, I focus on using authentic materials and texts related to specific topics, such as science or history, to teach language skills in context. For example, if we're learning about the environment, we might read articles or watch videos about climate change, pollution, and renewable energy. Then, we might discuss the topics in groups or write essays to practice our speaking and writing skills. By using real-life materials and contexts, I find that students are more motivated to learn and can see the relevance of the language skills they're developing.
To make learning even more fun and engaging, I also use Game-based Learning in my classroom. This involves using games and interactive activities to practice language skills and reinforce vocabulary and grammar. For example, we might play a board game where students have to answer questions about different topics, or we might do a scavenger hunt where students have to find objects or pictures related to vocabulary words. I find that games help to create a more relaxed and enjoyable learning environment, where students can practice their language skills without feeling self-conscious or anxious
